On Being Enthusiastic

What does it take from being a thief, a fraud and a street fighter, often been arrested and punished,  to a footballer, to a bodybuilder, to a wrestler and then a great Hollywood star ???

Let us know right from the man -
Attitude and Enthusiasm play a big part in my life. I get excited about the things that inspire me.
Yes, I talk abut The Rock - Dwayne Jhonson.

Enthusiasm - that eager feeling of passion, interest and excitement, the force pacing us to achievement. That positive energetic attitude, charging us with motivation and firmness.

Where do we find it then?

Easy - in your niche, your passion. Everything that excites you, actions that gives you a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction. And once you discover the line of action, it becomes a duty to nurture the notion.

The How -

Refer and set SMART goals - break it down - achieve in a given time - celebrate the progress.

On the other hand maintain a positive mindset - focus on opportunities and possibilities - Surround yourself with constructive people and environment.

Seek Inspiration - read books - listen to podcasts - attend seminars & workshops that focus on personal growth and success. Visualize Success - see yourself achieving your goals - foresee the positive

Sometimes, small actions lead to big results. Charity begins at home. Start with maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Prioritize sleep - exercise regularly - nourish your body with nutritious foods to boost energy levels.  Step out of your comfort zone and embrace new challenges that push your boundaries.

See, enthusiasm is not something we can turn on like a switch. It requires consistent effort and monitoring. Just by keeping self on track will lead us to the desired result.

Rightly said -

Enthusiasm is the electricity of life. How do you get it? You act enthusiastic until you make it a habit.

On Overcoming Fear ...

Some of 'these walls' had been of my own making;  my rebellion, my resistance; my arrogance, my need for control. Some had been built around me by the misfortunes of life; my loneliness; my orphaned heart; my fear of rejection.  - Author: Tessa Afshar

The fear of rejection or the social rejection is an unwanted free gift from the society.  It often comes from a natural human desire for acceptance and approval from others. Rightly quoted by the author  Steven Pressfield -

"Evolution has programmed us to feel rejection in our guts. This is how the tribe inforced obedience, by wielding the threat of expulsion. Fear of rejection isn't just psychological; it's biological. It's in our cells.

Thence we fuel it ourselves through negative self image. Our most unfortunate contemplations are self doubt and low self esteem, a constant worry about what people may say or think about. Here we steer away from those people, social situations, experiences and regretfully from opportunities. Though this may temporarily save us from the hypersensitivity to criticism, it still leads us to isolation and loneliness - the beginning of the end...

Enough, lets overcome

The first is to recognize and reframe negative thoughts. Challenge negative beliefs and self-talk related to rejection. Think of HOWs and WHYs in place of IFs

Desensitize by exposing yourself to small rejections or situations that elevate mild discomfort - gradually increasing difficulty. This builds resilience and reduces the fear's power over you. Be kind to yourself - practice self-care. Engage in activities you enjoy and excel at, surround yourself with supportive people, and set achievable goals. Achieving success in areas of interest can boost self-confidence and reduce the fear of rejection. Seek support by reaching trusted friends, family, or even professional counselors.

And the most important, develop effective communication skills. Enhancing your ability to express yourself assertively can enhance your relationships and reduce the fear of rejection. Well said Robert Kiyosaki -

“The better you are at communicating, negotiating, and handling your fear of rejection, the easier life is.”

Also, reframe rejection as an opportunity. Shift your perspective, and view rejection as a chance to learn and grow. Embrace failures as valuable lessons, which can ultimately lead to personal and professional growth.

Always remember -  overcoming fear of rejection is a gradual process. It costs patience and persistence. Actively work on challenging your fears and building self-confidence and watch that you can significantly reduce the impact of rejection on your life and relationships.

Have a fear-free life ahead... 🙂

On Beginning...

"The secret to getting ahead is getting started." - Mark Twain

Ironically, the hardest part of accomplishment is its beginning. Waking up early in the morning, hitting the gym for the first time, talking to a stranger, starting a presentation / ice breakers of Public Speaking, first day at the college... and the list continues.

What pulls us back ? Where did the fright come from? What are the limitations? Let's list out.

The biggest enemy is the fear of rejection. We basically are negative thinkers, looking for excuses by calculating the risks and rejections, looking for perfect time and opportunity leading to another enemy namely Procrastination. Lack of confidence, clarity, planning, enthusiasm and energy further keeps us still.

Now the question is how to Begin effectively?

Let's learn it from McRAVEN when he advices us, through his book "Make Your Bed", valuable insights and life lessons.

The first suggestion is to start the day with discipline. Making bed, first thing in the morning sets a tone of discipline and accomplishment for the rest of the day. It is a simple task that can provide a sense of pride and motivation to tackle other tasks.

Secondly, by making your bed neatly and taking care of the small things, you develop the habit of paying attention to detail in all aspects of your life.

Next is to develop a routine. Establishing a daily routine provides structure and consistency.

Then take one step at a time. Its always wise breaking down big tasks into smaller, manageable steps. By tackling each step individually, you build momentum and make progress toward your goals. Also attitude and mindset play a significant role in facing challenges. Maintaining a positive outlook, even in difficult situations, can help you overcome obstacles and find solutions.

And most importantly - Never give up. Perseverance is key to achieving success.

To sum up, remember, cultivate discipline, resilience, attention to detail, and positive attitudes are the virtues that contribute to personal and professional growth.
